EN-CV controls remote connections

To operate the CV control systems, you will have to connect to the CERN network infrastructure via either the Remote Operation Gateway (ROG) or via CERN Windows Terminal Services (WTS). These services can also be accessed remotely from outside CERN.

Once connected to the CERN infrastructure, you will have to

1. In the case of ROG:  launch the SCADA application (WinCC OA, PCVue or WinCC Flexible) used to supervise a specific CV plant.

2. In the case of WTS: connect to the EN-CV Terminal Services, CERNTSCV, and launch the SCADA application (WinCC OA, PCVue or WinCC Flexible) used to supervise a specific CV plant.

Registration for EN-CV Controls System Access

You must send a support request to EN-CV-CL Control Support. The support request must contain the following information:

  • a. your CERN email address
  • b. your CERN computer account
  • c. the supervision system, WinCC OA, PCVue or WinCC Flexible, for which you request access
  • d. CERN Contract Number (e.g. S294)

Registration for remote access

You must regster here for access to WTS

Connection procedure

You can connect remotely to all CV control systems via either the Remote Operation Gateway (ROG) or the Windows Terminal Server (CERNTSCV).

1. Access via ROG

  • You connect via ROG, and launch the applications as described here: ROG Launch

2. Access via Windows Terminal Server (CERTSCV)

  • Connect to CERNTSCV via the Remote Desktop Connection Application as described here: Detailed Procedure

Support Contacts

For problems related to these systems, the support contacts are as follows:

ROG:  contact Service Desk.

WTS (CERNTS): contact Service Desk.

CERNTSCV: contact ICE Controls

WinCC OA access: contact ICE Controls

WinCC OA privileges: contact CVcontrols Support

WinCC OA applications: CVcontrols Support
